Product Designer - American Tourister - Parttime

The American Tourister Design Team is seeking a talented and creative entry-level Designer for a part-time position (50% / 60%).

Join our European Design Team and contribute to a wide range of product categories, including hardside and softside luggage, travel bags, daily bags, and accessories. You will manage your projects from initial sketches to final development, collaborating closely with marketing teams in Belgium and development teams in Asia.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop design proposals based on market and marketing requirements.
• Work on various product types, including soft and hard luggage, and non-travel items such as casual backpacks, business backpacks, duffels, and other accessories.
• Design products for kids, including licensed items (Disney, Marvel, etc.).
• Create graphical print directions for main collections and kids’ categories, reflecting the latest trends.
• Translate designs into precise technical drawings for sampling.
• Oversee the development of your collections with our Asia-based development team.
• Review samples, providing feedback to refine and perfect concepts.
• Present and defend your concepts to the marketing team and management during monthly product meetings.

Profiel kandidaat

The Ideal Candidate:

• Is a recent graduate or junior freelance designer seeking an in-house part-time position.
• Shows a creative mindset and is pro-active in concept proposals.
• Has a solid understanding of production processes and cost constraints.
• Is skilled in graphics and print / pattern creation.
• Has a keen awareness of the latest product trends across various industries (fashion, travel, automotive, etc.).
• Shows interest in the color and trim aspects of product development.
• Has the ability to work effectively within an international design and development team.
• Shows strong skills in the Adobe Suite (AI, PS).
• Knowledge of 3D design and Keyshot is a plus.
• Is innovative and thinks out of the box.
• Is proficient in English.
