Our client is an independent, global marine catering company for offshore and merchant vessels. We have different types of crew solutions for outsourced or self-managed galley staff.

For their office in Merksem they are looking for a Category Buyer.
For one of our clients we are looking for a Category Buyer with a passion for purchasing and long-term relationships. In this position you will work closely with management and help to further develop the purchasing policy.

As a Category Buyer you will actively look for the best value for money on the market, without compromising on service or sustainability. Thanks to your negotiating skills and structured approach, you will strengthen existing supplier relationships and ensure a future-oriented strategy.

Your duties and responsibilities:

• You build strong, professional relationships with suppliers;
• You negotiate transparent contracts with clear agreements;
• You follow up on daily purchasing activities and work on cost savings;
• You monitor compliance with internal procedures, quality requirements and sustainability;
• You manage the budget, do forecasting and report monthly on key suppliers;
• You handle supplier complaints in a professional manner;
• You support sourcing projects where necessary.

Profiel kandidaat

As a Category Buyer, you will have the following profile:

• A Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience;
• Demonstrated experience in purchasing and negotiation;
• Strong organizational and communication skills;
• Customer-oriented, results-oriented and strategic thinking skills;
• Independence and flexibility - you work mainly from home;
• Willingness to travel internationally for supplier or customer visits;
• You speak and write fluently in Dutch and English.
