As a Contract Manager, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the success of (international) projects by providing essential contractual oversight and support. You will be the key point of contact for all contractual matters, guiding project teams and management in understanding and executing contract requirements.
Your role is crucial to the seamless delivery of projects, ensuring that all contractual obligations are met and that risks are effectively managed.
You will be mostly working onsite on our challenging projects combined with a presence at our Ghent office and will be part of our contract management team based in Belgium.
Your responsibilities as (senior) contract manager:
- Serve as the primary authority on contract-related matters, providing expert guidance to project management teams from project initiation through execution.
- Take full ownership of the contract lifecycle, ensuring proper administration of variation orders, claims, and other contractual deliverables.
- Develop, implement, and monitor project-specific contract management tools and procedures to maintain compliance and prevent disputes.Increase contractual awareness within project teams by providing ongoing training and mentoring in contract management best practices..
- Increasing contractual awareness within the project team to ensure the proper and timely submission of contract deliverables.
- Reviewing documents in relation to specific project(s), such as: joint venture or consortium agreements, main contracts and subcontracts.
- Drafting and reviewing of (covering) letters, variation orders and claims addressed to or received from partners, client and subcontractors.
- Proactively contributing in all required contract and / or subcontract negotiations during the execution phase of a project.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with cross-functional teams such as insurance, procurement, treasury, and legal counsel, ensuring all contractual obligations are fully understood and managed.
- Proactively identify potential contractual risks and offer solutions to avoid project delays or financial losses.

Profiel kandidaat
• Master/bachelor’s degree in construction management, business administration, (civil) engineering, law or related field.
• At least three to five years of relevant experience.
• Knowledge in international procurement frameworks such as FIDIC / NEC / VOB/B contracts is an advantage.
• Excellent English and French verbal and written communication skills. Knowledge of German would be an asset.
• Accuracy and attention to detail and being a teamplayer.
