  • As Help Desk Technician you will provide technical assistance for our nVent clients by supporting their hardware infrastructure as well as by diagnosing and troubleshooting software and hardware problems.
  • In order quickly to understand the root of the problem, you will ask customers targeted questions, escalate unresolved issues to the appropriate nVent team, and provide prompt and accurate feedback to customers.
  • As Help Desk Technician you will prioritize and manage several open issues at one time and follow up with clients to ensure their IT systems are fully functional after troubleshooting.
  • You will refer to internal databases or external resources to provide accurate technical solutions, and document technical knowledge in the form of notes and manuals.
  • You will perform hardware/operating system reviews and troubleshoot software installation, configuration and set up issues.
  • As Help Desk Technician you will perform pre-installation activities and post-installation follow-up.
  • You will continuously upgrade your knowledge and skills related to new product rollouts, existing products and new technology to increase your proficiency as a Help Desk Technician.
  • You will be responsible for the purchase of PC/telephone hardware and software.

  • Ultimately, you will ensure prompt and accurate customer service and increase client satisfaction.
  • This position will be located at our Leuven office in a global oriented environment.
  • Occasional international travel is possible.

Profiel kandidaat

  • The successful candidate will have proven work experience as a Technical Support Engineer, Desktop Support Engineer, IT Help Desk Technician or in a similar role.
  • You have hands-on experience with Windows OS environments and systems, and a working knowledge of Active Directory, MS Office, Office 365, and Exchange Outlook.
  • A good understanding of computer systems, mobile devices and other tech products, as well as the ability to diagnose and troubleshoot basic technical issues are of paramount importance in your role as IT Help Desk Technician.
  • You are familiar with remote desktop applications and help desk software and have some knowledge of Server and Network (WAN/LAN) and TCP/IP. A good knowledge of servers, workstations and printers is a plus.
  • Your excellent problem solving, presentation and communication skills enable you to provide step-by-step technical help with clear instructions, both written and verbally.
  • It would be nice if you completed Major courses with an IT degree, but we focus more on knowledge and skills than on diplomas.
  • You are proficient in English, both in speech and in writing.
