The Internal audit department performs an independent, objective assurance and consulting activity designed to add value and improve an organisation’s operations.
It helps an organisation accomplish its objectives by bringing a systematic, disciplined approach to evaluate and improve the effectiveness of risk management, control, and governance processes.
The Internal audit team provides insights and recommendations to management and BOD based on analyses and assessments of data and business processes.
The J-SOX regulation mandates that all publicly traded companies must establish internal controls and procedures for financial reporting and must document, test and maintain those controls and procedures to ensure their effectiveness. This to help ensure reasonable assurance towards the stakeholders by improving the reliability of corporate disclosures.
The J-SOX department independently assesses the internal controls and procedures of the organization. This assessment is reported on a monthly bases to management.
The Internal Control Business Partner is an internal independent expert who actively monitors the company’s compliance with the regulations. The Internal Control Business Partner will act as SPOC within EMEA region and reports to the Group Internal Audit & J-SOX Manager, Kelly Quinten.
• Internal Controls
- Develop, maintain, and update the internal control framework according working knowledge of laws and industry guidance for establishing, maintaining, and reporting on the internal controls.
- Manage monthly reporting method and prepare presentation charts to update Internal Audit Manager on the status of the monthly internal control and J-Sox testing activities in a timely manner.
- Assist in managing the digital transformation of the internal control environment to continuous monitoring.
- Deploy our risk-based approach and promote the improvement of the risk culture within the organization.
- Interface with department, local personnel, and process owners to ensure that internal control objectives, deliverables and timelines are met.
- Review the monthly management assessments on the internal controls and keep track the status of gaps and remediation actions.
- Establish and follow up on the Corrective and Preventive Action (CAPA) plan based on the outcome of the monthly J-SOX testing and annual J-SOX visits.
- Be involved in any strategic development of the internal audit department. Assist to work on other internal audit missions and/or special assignments if needed.
- Work closely together with different business stakeholders to merge the internal controls with the stakeholders’ day-to-day activities.
• Continuous improvement
- Monitor the trends and developments in the internal audit area.
• Reporting
- Report on internal control issues to the Internal Audit & J-SOX Manager.
• Compliance
- To understand requirements from compliance preferably major countries in EMEA
- By knowing business requirements, operations, processes across organization, supervising activities to make compliance activities effective and efficient.

Profiel kandidaat
• Master degree in Accountancy, Applied Economic Sciences or similar through experience
• You have approx. 5 years' of experience as Internal Auditor or internal control auditor
• A combination of Big4 experience and experience as Internal Auditor or J-SOX auditor on a company-wide level is preferred
• Experience in writing internal control procedures and controls (flowcharts, list of what, who, when and how)
• Good communication skills (verbal and written) in Dutch and English. Other languages are an asset
• Strong active listening skills: asks clarifying questions to understand end-to-end process and able to make an executive summary
